Martha M. Grout, MD,
MD(H)
Martha Grout received her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1971. She spent her early medical career in Emergency Medicine, in which she became Board Certified in 1980. She worked in Emergency Departments in New York, Florida and Arizona for the next 25 years.
She received her acupuncture training in 1997 from Joseph Helms, MD through UCLA, Medical Acupuncture for Physicians. She is currently Board Certified in Medical Acupuncture. She is President of the Arizona Chapter of the American Academy of Medical Acupuncture, and has served on the Arizona State Board of Acupuncture Examiners since 2003.
She received her homeopathic medical license in 1997. She has treated a broad spectrum of medical conditions, from "minor" to life threatening, and has come to realize that, although allopathic medicine is remarkably effective for acute conditions, there is no true healing of chronic conditions without the simultaneous involvement of body, mind and spirit.
Dr. Grout currently sees patients with conditions classified in the “functional” category – migraine headaches, irritable bowel, attention deficit disorder, developmental disorders, depression, anxiety, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue. She also sees children with autism, attention deficit disorder, allergies, irritable bowel syndrome and other childhood chronic conditions.
She recently moved into a new office, located at 9328 E. Raintree Drive in Scottsdale. The building is constructed to be completely non-toxic and environmentally friendly, with low outgassing construction materials and furniture which is 95% recyclable and non-toxic.
Dr. Grout is taking over the baton for preservative-free allergy testing and treatment from Stuart Lanson, MD
- the only location between Phoenix and Dallas, Texas where this service is offered.
