Veterinary Program Overview
Description
The Homeopathic Veterinary Practitioner Certificate Program offers a 500 hour intensive training program in classical homeopathy for DVM’s. This is designed to train veterinary practitioners in the practice of classical veterinary homeopathy and help prepare them for certification through the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy. The curriculum and class work is similar to the Homeopathic Veterinary Assistant Certificate Program and shares much of the same course work.
The Homeopathic Veterinary Assistant Certificate Program offers a 500 hour intensive training program in classical homeopathy. This is designed to train allied health paraprofessionals in the practice of classical veterinary homeopathy and helps prepare them for registration as a veterinary technician in the State of Arizona. The curriculum and class work is similar to the Homeopathic Veterinary Practitioner Certificate Program and
shares much of the same course work.
The certificate programs provide a solid preparation for the professional practice of homeopathic medicine. They are based on a firm foundation of the fundamental principles and philosophy of homeopathic medicine. These program also innovative and responsive to changes in the clinical environment, health care system and characteristics of the populations to be served. The curriculum is designed to enable students to demonstrate the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to meet the educational learning objectives of the program.
Structure
The Certificate Programs are two-year part time programs. The school operates on a quarter system. All quarters are twelve weeks each.
Integration
The curriculum is integrated among disciplines. Opportunities for self-direction in learning are included throughout the curriculum.
Focus on Clinical Training, Humanism and Community
Clinical training is included in all years of the curriculum and includes opportunities for students to participate in interprofessional teams. Professionalism and humanism are integrated into all aspects of the curriculum. The curriculum is designed to foster both intercollegiate community and the process of becoming a part of the homeopathic profession.
Preparation for Practice
The educational atmosphere leads you to become a respected and skilled member of the homeopathic field. As a graduate of this school you will be ready to begin a career in homeopathy with the skills and knowledge necessary for achieving your full potential as a healer. Continuing medical education assists graduates in keeping current with the latest developments in the homeopathic field and provides an opportunity to stay closely connected to the homeopathic community.
First Year Curriculum
The first year provides a solid grounding in the fundamentals of homeopathic philosophy and medicine.. Homeopathic clinical training begins at the beginning of the program consisting in case observation. Students are introduced to the business of homeopathic practice.
Second Year Curriculum
The second year of training introduces the student to case taking and case analysis skills. Business and marketing skills are expanded on in the curriculum.
