Description

  

The AMCH Library is intended to support the teaching, learning and research at the American Medical College of Homeopathy. In keeping with its mission as a research library, the AMCH Library acquires primary sources and unique materials. AMCH endeavors to develop a comprehensive level of collection in homeopathic medicine, an advanced level of study in alternative medicine and an advanced level of study in conventional medicine.
  
The American Medical College of Homeopathy Library plays a central role in the development and mission of the college. It provides a quiet respite for students in class and a reference resource for students and practitioners seeking knowledge in homeopathic medicine.
  
The AMCH Library is one of the largest homeopathic libraries in the United States. It is housed in Phoenix, Arizona an comprises over 2000 volumes, journals and tapes. The library is a reference library and contains many rare homeopathic books and journals dating back to the 1870’s. 
    
  

Usage

  

The library is utilized frequently by students at the American Medical College of Homeopathy, practitioners at the American Medical College of Homeopathy and by the Phoenix Homeopathic Study Group. The library is also open to the public from 8:30AM to 4:30PM Monday through Friday. The location is 2001 W. Camelback, Suite 150, Phoenix, AZ 85015; 602-347-7950.

  • Homeopathic Collection

  • Natural History Collection

  • Rare Homeopathic Book Collection

  • Reference Collection

The core of the library has been assembled from three primary donors:

  • Ardella Hecht

  • Dean Crothers MD

  • Hahnemann Medical College

     

Library Mission

  

The mission of the American Medical College of Homeopathy Library is to provide a multimedia resource center for AMCH students, AMCH faculty and members of the general public who are interested in homeopathy. This resource center will be innovative, responsive and proactive.

   
   

Phoenix CAM Library

  

AMCH is partnering with the Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture to form a Complementary and Alternative Medicine Library in Phoenix Arizona. This library will be the first of its kind and will be both a local and national resource for those studying alternative medicine. The homeopathic collection is expected to be the first comprehensive homeopathic collection in the United States.
