AMCH’s Board of Trustees includes practicing homeopaths, business professionals, marketing, legal and research experts. All are dedicated to the success of AMCH; all have contributed to helping AMCH move forward.

  • Vivek Pathela

    Vivek Pathela is a technology entrepreneur, business executive, and founder of CareToHeal, an online marketplace for homeopathic and alternative medicine practitioners to connect with people suffering from chronic conditions and to measure the impact of their care with efficacy tracking tools. He had served at NETGEAR for 11 years from the dawn of WiFi in 2000 through its IPO and 30x growth. There he led the company’s consumer products business as VP/GM, raising NETGEAR to become a global market leader with annual revenues topping $500m. Previously, Mr. Pathela had served at Hewlett Packard for 15 years and held various positions in product management, marketing, systems engineering and software development for its computer systems businesses. Life defining moments in health led to his focus today in the consumer adoption of solutions to improve the vast patient care marketplace in the areas of natural and alternative medicine, digital healthcare and mobile health by leveraging cloud computing, big data analytics, and machine learning. Vivek graduated with double honors in computer science and international relations from Tufts University, completed executive studies at Wharton and Stanford, and lives with his family in the Bay Area, California.
  • Dr. Todd Rowe

    Todd Rowe, MD, MD(H), DHt, CCH

    Dr. Todd Rowe is the president and a founder of the American Medical College of Homeopathy. He is a licensed homeopathic physician who has been practicing homeopathy for more than 20 years and has a part time practice in classical homeopathy. He is certified by the American Board of Homeotherapeutics and the Council for Homeopathic Certification. He has been a doctor of medicine since 1984 and a graduate of Rush Medical School, Chicago, Illinois. He completed his psychiatric residency at the University of Vermont in 1988 and achieved Board Certification in Psychiatry in 1992. He completed his homeopathic training at the Hahnemann College of Homeopathy in Albany, CA. Dr. Rowe teaches extensively. He is the president of the American Medical College of Homeopathy. He supervises homeopathic students and trains medical students and residents in classical homeopathy. He has published several distance learning courses designed to help prepare physicians for first aid and acute prescribing, as well as preparing for homeopathic licensing exams. He has written several books on homeopathic education, including Homeopathic Methodology, The Homeopathic Journey and Choosing a Career in Homeopathic Medicine. Dr. Rowe is the director of the Society for the Establishment of Research in Classical Homeopathy. He has conducted numerous provings, mostly focusing on local flora and fauna. He has recently published a book called Desert Medicine: A Homeopathic Exploration.
  • Sassan Behjat

    Sassan Behjat has over 25 years of experience in healthcare services, management, product development and marketing. He is an adviser to W.H.O on TM/CAM policy development, and undertaken several consultative assignments on behalf of W.H.O/EMRO. He is the country representative to more than a dozen W.H.O sponsored conferences and assignments, as speaker and expert. He has practical experience in regulatory affairs, policy development, business planning and budgeting.He is passionate about learning and enjoy interaction with people from diverse cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and has had extensive international travel to over 35 countries.
  • Sandra Kamiak MD

    Sandra Kamiak, M.D., a graduate of the Hahnemann College of Homeopathy(Albany-Pt Richmond, Ca.) maintains a private practice, in Saratoga, Ca, practicing classical homeopathy.She has a body-mind-spirit focus in her work and enjoys seeing people grow in consciousness, especially at this profound time in the history of the planet.
  • Paul Sugar

    Paul Sugar, a health care management professional, has founded and operated a number of highly successful service related businesses in the medical and dental fields. Beyond combining management, financial, and marketing skills to maximize the growth of these organizations, Paul has applied the principles of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) and Peak Performance. After receiving his degree from Syracuse University in 1969, Paul began his pioneering exploration in the fields of stress reduction and performance enhancement. In his commitment to continually improve his skills, Paul has taught his programs in the health care, academic, corporate and private sectors for more than 35 years. Pauls MBSR class offers physician CME, nursing CEU and learning codes for dietitians. Continuing education credits are accepted by a number of other professional organizations.
  • Patrick Hesselmann, CCH

    Patrick Hesselmann spent a successful career as a manufacturing engineer in the computer and avionics industries in Phoenix, Arizona, where, apart from working with the development and implementation of electronics assembly processes, he became best known for helping people work together. During the last fifteen years of his career, he studied homeopathy as an avocation, focusing on Hahnemann’s Organon, developing a good feel for its depth, wisdom and importance in the understanding and practice of homeopathy. Patrick is Co-chair of the AMCH board as well as being heavily involved in the day-to-day running of the technology for the online classes. He teaches Homeopathic Philosophy and History of Homeopathy for AMCH. He remains a passionate advocate for homeopathy although he no longer practices.
  • Jake Carter

    Jake Carter is an entrepreneur and businessman who has started and led companies in the integrative medical space including his most recent stint as Chairman and CEO of an integrative medical products company that has made the INC 5,000 lists of fastest growing companies in the US in 2011 and 2012. He started his career in a small publicly traded company that was mainly engaged in acquiring and growing micro technology companies. Jake participated in the operational enhancement and integration of acquisitions in the accounting and finance area before eventually transferring to sales and marketing – a true love. After dropping out of college multiple times to further entrepreneurial ventures, Jake eventually finished his degree in accounting from BYU (a top 5 program in the US) while working full-time and then went to work for KPMG in Los Angeles as a Director in their Business Advisory Services practice, providing business and management consulting to KPMG clients. After leaving KPMG and working as a Director in another company that exploded in growth from 60 to 600 employees in their first year of operation, Jake eventually came back to his roots as the CEO of small medical device company, focused on the integrative medical market that successfully brought to market a successful technology that not only was a leader in the integrative market, but created a technology spin-off that has successfully created a high-level diagnostic device used in traditional medicine.
  • Harry Swope MBA, ND, DHANP, CCH

    Dr. Swope graduated from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon in 1989. In 2005, he was one of the initial group to receive a Naturopathic Doctor's license in California. Prior to that, he held an Arizona license as a naturopathic physician. For over fifteen years he participated in efforts to license NDs in California, serving for several years during the final phase as a board member and Treasurer of the California Naturopathic Doctors Association. With the invaluable support of Durr Elmore, DC, ND, DHANP and others, he founded the Council for Homeopathic Certification in 1991. He has remained on that board to support the organizations goal of creating a unified and respected homeopathic profession based on shared standards of training, competency, and ethical behavior. In 2005 he was recognized by the National Center for Homeopathy with the Henry Williams Professional Service Award, in large part for the contribution that the Council for Homeopathic Certification has made. He is a past board member and Vice President of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians. He was one of the founders of the Institute for Natural Medicine. He is a past board member and Vice President of the National Center for Homeopathy. He has recently accepted an invitation to be a member of the advisory board and the Treasurer for the American Medical College of Homeopathy which is being established in Arizona.
  • Dominick Grillas

    Dominick Grillas is an international business and technology leader with apassion for enterprise effectiveness and transformation. His experience spans over 25 years of IT and Operations management, business and consulting with a focus on strategy execution, enterprise architecture and performance, program and portfolio management, transformation and outsourcing, leading numerous global and transformational initiatives in the US, Europe, APAC and LATAM. Dominick has been working for world leading consulting firms such as Cap Gemini, Keane, and Wipro, where he both managed Fortune 500 accounts and helped grow business in Europe and the Americas. In his early career as a System Engineer Dominick focused on optimizing large scale architectures and mainframe computers internal code, managed multi-centre IT organizations and reorganized data centres across Europe. Dominick then helped Cap Gemini with its overall transformation and various merger & acquisitions, leading the training of entire management and executive teams as well as the management of business performance for several countries and subsidiaries. Dominick developed or contributed to multiple methodologies and publications on Market and Account Planning, Strategic Planning & Execution, Governance, PMO, Enterprise Portfolio and Benefits Realization.   • Cave, Sonny JD

    Sonny Cave’s professional career spans 20 years of broad legal and business experience, including working for more than 10 years within the semiconductor industry. Mr. Cave currently serves as the Senior Vice President, General Counsel, Secretary and Chief Compliance and Ethics Officer of ON Semiconductor Corporation headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. ON Semiconductor (NASDAQ:ONNN) is a leading global supplier of advanced semiconductors for sophisticated electronics application within the portable, wireless, computing, consumer, networking, automotive, and industrial end-product markets. It has major sales and operations in the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific regions. Mr. Cave earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Colorado Law School in 1985. He also holds a Master of Science degree in Botany from Arizona State University (1982) and a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany, cum laude, from Duke University (1979).
