Faculty are at the core of AMCH. They bring extensive experience in homeopathy, clinical treatment and teaching to our programs. A core value of AMCH is the success of students.   • Cheri Newton

    Faculty Member

    Cheri Newton completed her Diploma in Homeopathy at the School of Homeopathy, New York, studying with great homeopathic mentors like Jeremy Sherr, Misha Norland, Sadhna Thakkars and Jo Daly, to name a few. She has brought her skills in mentoring and her enthusiasm for Homeopathy together in order to help educate Tucsonans about Classical Homeopathy.
  • Iris Bell MD, MD(H), PhD

    Chair of Research Department

    Dr. Bell graduated with an AB degree in biology from Harvard University, magna cum laude. She then received her PhD in Neuro- and Biobehavioral Sciences and her MD from Stanford University. After completing her psychiatry residency at the University of California - San Francisco, Dr. Bell served as a faculty member at the University of California - San Francisco and, later, at Harvard Medical School. She is board-certified in psychiatry, with added qualification in geriatric psychiatry. She has published over 100 peer-reviewed articles, as well as over a dozen book chapters, and a monograph on environmental chemical sensitivity. She has received grant funding from the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Veterans Affairs, and numerous private foundations on topics ranging from nutrition in dementia and depression to the neurobiology of environmental illness to individual difference predictors of excellent outcomes during classical homeopathic treatment. Dr. Bell is currently Professor of Psychiatry, Psychology, Medicine, Family & Community Medicine, and Public Health as well as Director of Research for the Program in Integrative Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. She also directs an NIH-funded T32 Complementary and Alternative Medicine Research Training Grant for predoctoral and postdoctoral fellows.

    Dr. Farokh Master was India’s First MD in Homeopathy who stood First Class First with a Gold Medal. He was the first Indian to be honoured by the House of Lords, UK for propagation of Homeopathic Systems of Medicine. Rated as Top 10 Best Homeopathic Doctors in the world by Pioneer University, Oxon U.K., and Members of the Board of the Pioneer Homoeopathic Academy of U.K and thereafter conferred the Honorary Doctorate of Homeopathy in 2006. Dr. Master has been independently practicing as a Homeopathic Physician at Mumbai’sHomeopathic Health Center, with over 29 years of experience in Homeopathic consultation and treatment. He was the first doctor India to introduce Homeopathy in Allopathic Modern Hospitals as well as in the private sector. First Indian Homeopath to start his own Homeopathy Schools in Europe & USA under the name of Dr. Farokh Master Summer School. This school is currently run in more than 6 countries. He has been recognized and acknowledged worldwide for his contributions in the Homeopathic treatment of patients with cancer at St Lukas Clinic of Tumor, Switzerland; the Madame Curie Institute of Cancer in Paris, France; the Chicago Children’s General Hospital, U.S.A., etc. He has been the recipient of several National and International Awards and Honors for outstanding contribution to Classical Homeopathy, Cancer & Homeopathy, Homeopathic Education and other alternative therapies.     Greg Meyer MD, MD(H), MSPH earned his Doctorate of Medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, Chicago, Illinois and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona. His Masters of Science in Public Health /Epidemiology was completed at the University of Illinois Medical Center, Chicago. He completed the certificate program in Classical Homeopathy at the American Medical College of Homeopathy, Phoenix. Currently he practices Classical Homeopathy in Phoenix and is a licensed homeopathy physician in Arizona, and is faculty at the American Medical College of Homeopathy in Phoenix. In addition, he is a staff physician in urgent care for Cigna Healthcare, and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Urgent Care Medicine. In his spare time he does photography and world travel.     Anita Josefa Barzman is a physician, psychoanalysts and classically trained homeopath who combines Jungian psychoanalysis and depth psychotherapy, homeopathy and psychiatry in her work in an integrated and eclectic manner. She has been in practice since 1989, and has included homeopathy in her practice since 1999. She is a 1985 graduate of the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine, completed the UCSF Psychiatry Residency Training Program in 1989, became Board Certified in Psychiatry in 1991, and was certified as a members analyst of the C.G. Jung Institute os San Francisco in 2999. Anita received her practitioners Diploma in Homeopathy from the School of Homeopathy. As a homeopath, Jungian analyst and psychiatrist, Anita is deeply interested in the multidimensional interconnectedness of mind, body and spirit. She teaches and has given papers on the topic of collaborative work between homeopaths and psychotherapists as well as resonances between Jungian psychology and homeopathy.     Debbie Noah, CCH has two offices to serve you; in Phoenix and Chandler, Arizona. Her bachelor’s degree in is Holistic Health, and her master’s is in Licensed Professional Counseling. She is a graduate of the American Medical College of Homeopathy and the British Institute of Homeopathy. She has taught homeopathy extensively and is on the faculty at AMCH, and the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts. She was one of the first members/teachers of the Phoenix Homeopathy Study Group and has been a promoter and practitioner of the art of homeopathy for 25 years.     Miriam has been a practicing homeopath for nearly twenty years. She has a particular interest in evidence-based research in integrative health care, and an intellectual curiosity that helps her investigate complex conditions. Miriam has offices in Alameda and San Francisco and leverages technology for a global practice. Prior to discovering homeopathy, she was an exercise physiologist working in both a cardiac rehabilitation facility and an acute care hospital. Miriam’s background also includes many years of experience in sports medicine physical therapy clinics. She is a founding member of the Alameda Integrative Network, a working group for education amongst integrative practitioners in the San Francisco Bay Area. Miriam has taught at Pacific Academy of Homeopathy, and has spoken at many community events. Miriam has presented homeopathy at the California Society of Cardiac Rehabilitation’s annual conference.

    Dr. Bruce Shelton is a graduate of the NY Medical College 1971. He is a diplomate of the British Institute of Homeopathy and a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is past President of the Arizona Board of Homeopathic Medical Examiners and the president of the Arizona Homeopathic and Integrative Medical Association. He serves as chief medical advisorto Heel USA. He has an active homeopathic family practice in Phoenix, AZ.
  • Joette Calabrese, HMC, CCH, RSHom(NA)

    Joette Calabrese began her studies in classical homeopathy in 1986 and completed her five-year degrees in the North American Homeopathic Master Clinician Course and the Dynamis School of Advanced Homeopathy in Toronto. She has been on staff at Daemen College, teaching the 1st credit bearing course on the Principles of Homeopathy in New York State and Chautauqua Institution, and has served as a faculty tutor with the British Institute of Homeopathy. In 2013 and again in 2014, Ms. Calabrese was awarded a fellowship at the Prasanta Banerji Homeopathic Research Foundation in Calcutta, where she studied side by side with the world famous team of Dr. Prasanta and Dr. Pratip Banerji. Ms. Calabrese has run a SKYPE based, international homeopathic practice since 1995, authors a bi-weekly blog and offers online courses and tutoring in the Banerji Protocols. She has been keynote speaker at the National Center of Homeopathy and other international homeopathy and holistic conferences, is a regular contributing columnist for nutritional and homeopathic blogs and authors a column in Wise Traditions, the journal of the Weston A. Price Foundation. Ms. Calabrese authors on line courses and books, where she teaches practical methods and protocols to ensure that practitioners have powerful tools, but her main focus is teaching families how to cure themselves with homeopathy.

    Gabriel Cousens M.D., M.D.(H), D.D.
