International Dual Program in Acupuncture and Homeopathic Medicine

Through PIHMA’s Masters Degree programs in Acupuncture and in Oriental Medicine, combined with the AMCH at PIHMA Homeopathy Homeopathic Practitioner Program, or the Vithoulkas Program, PIHMA is able to offer a dual study program in AOM and homeopathic medicine. This program leads to expert level knowledge in both Eastern and Western Traditional Medicines.

Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture at PIHMA

The Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine and Acupuncture (PIHMA College and Clinic) is licensed by the Arizona Private Postsecondary Education Board to offer its 4-year master of science degrees in Acupuncture (2665 hours) and Oriental Medicine (3310 hours). These Master’s degree programs (the Acupuncture degree can be completed in less time depending upon one’s schedule) are designed to prepare students to sit for the National Certification Examination in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). This exam is the main requirement for licensing in most states, including Arizona. PIHMA is renowned for its clinic which treats more than 10,000 clients each year offering low–cost treatments to the public. PIHMA officially started in 1996. In May of 2003, PIHMA received full accreditation and has been reaccredited since. PIHMA is the valley’s only accredited Oriental Medical & Acupuncture College. PIHMA offers a flexible weekend/evening course schedule and a variety of clinical shifts during the week.

Homeopathic Medicine at AMCH at PIHMA

In addition to its flagship Homeopathic Practitioner Program, AMCH at PIHMA also offers the Vithoulkas Program in Classical Homeopathy. This is a 2-year, part-time, program with one third of the program clinical training. Classes meet one evening per week. The program is licensed in the State of Arizona.

The program is based on the core teachings and lectures of George Vithoulkas and covers the A-Z of Classical Homeopathy-his unique understanding of the Theory of Chronic Diseases, the 12 Levels of Health, documented live cases, and Materia Medica of over 120 remedies. The program contains 250 hours of supervised clinical training.

Due to the unique way that the presentation of the course has been captured, you experience the teaching as if Prof. Vithoulkas is in the room and you are in the class, via his lectures and video case studies. The teacher will answer any questions or issues that arise and will facilitate discussion and will supervise students’ clinical studies. More Information
